The Michigan Brown Trout Festival, its member organizations,
and the community would like to invite and welcome everyone in
joining us to celebrate the 32nd annual festival July 14 - 23, 2006.
We look forward to the return of our fishing family friends, participants,
their friends, and our new fishing enthusiasts to beautiful Alpena.
32 years ago several Alpena businessmen had the idea that a fishing
festival staffed by community service organizations would be of benefit to
the area A few different times during the summer were
suggested and through the fledgling years best fish catching time were
tried with the conclusion that the third full week in July was the best
time to catch Brown Trout, Salmon, Lake Trout, and Steelhead as well as
this year adding back the Walleye division. This has become the
longest continuously running Blue Water tournament with the largest Ladies
Classic tournament on the Great Lakes. There are 12 service
organizations who furnish the people power for running the 10 day long
festival as well as representatives from each club who work all year long
at organizing the next year's festival. Each club shares in the
profits from the festival and uses those funds to enrich their charitable
endeavors. Our outstanding community sponsors include Neiman's
Family Market, who provide our Small Tent entertainment daily, Earth Tech
who sponsor our Big Tent, Pepsi shoe sponsor the 2-day Pepsi Super
Tournament, Jack Daniels who sponsor the Ladies Classic, WATZ with their
Country night featuring a new and upcoming artist, 107.7 the Bay with
their annual Beach Bash, and B-Rock radio station. What a wonderful
community we have to provide so much support to the Best Small Festival in
Michigan per the readers of Michigan Magazine. Thank You for your
participation, sponsorship, advertising, or just visiting our
festival. The City of Alpena, member organizations, and the
community welcome you and your friends in becoming our friends. Rich
